Gul Shujah, CICP, is a seasoned Credit Controller with 12+ years’ expertise in credit management, collections, and financial risk optimization. He specialises in cash flow improvement, client relationship management, and strategic credit control, driving sustainable growth across multinational corporations.

Gul Shujah is a seasoned Credit Controller with over 12 years of progressive experience in credit management, accounts receivable, and financial control across multinational corporations in the Middle East. Currently serving at Johnson Controls (Dubai, UAE), he has established himself as a results-driven finance professional with a proven ability to optimise cash flow, reduce delinquency rates, and build sustainable client relationships.

In his current role at Johnson Controls, Gul oversees the end-to-end credit control process, including accounts receivable management, collections, reconciliations, KYC compliance, and litigation coordination. He has successfully implemented systematic credit policies, automated reporting mechanisms, and process enhancements that improved debt recovery efficiency and supported the company’s financial growth. His expertise spans handling multi-currency transactions (USD, GBP, DKK, etc.), collaborating with external collection agencies, and ensuring compliance with internal audits and due diligence standards.

Before joining Johnson Controls, Gul held senior credit control positions at Strainstall Middle East LLC (a James Fisher Group subsidiary in the UK) and TECH GROUP (Ajman, UAE), where he developed strong competencies in credit risk assessment, customer relationship management, revenue recognition, and dispute resolution. His ability to align credit management strategies with overall business objectives consistently resulted in meeting and exceeding cash collection and DSO targets.

His early career began as an Admin/Accounts Officer at Helping Hand USA (Pakistan Chapter), followed by an Accounts Receivable Accountant role at TECH GROUP, which laid the foundation for his career in finance by giving him exposure to billing systems, financial reporting, audits, and ERP platforms such as Oracle JD Edwards and Microsoft Dynamics.

An MBA in Finance (2006) graduate, Gul further advanced his professional expertise by earning the Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) designation from FCIB (The Finance, Credit, and International Business Association) in 2020.

Recognised for his strategic mindset, negotiation skills, and customer-focused approach, Gul combines financial acumen with interpersonal effectiveness. His leadership in credit policy development, debt recovery strategies, and financial risk management has positioned him as a valuable contributor to organisational profitability and long-term financial stability.
