Katrina Budde is a seasoned Latin teacher and private tutor with over two decades of experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings. She specializes in making Latin accessible, adaptable, and engaging for learners of all ages—from middle school students to retirees. Drawing on her deep classroom experience and current graduate studies in Latin at Kent State University, Katrina offers instruction that is academically grounded, responsive to student needs, and rooted in genuine enthusiasm for the ancient world.

Her private lessons are highly individualized and flexible, shaped by a wide variety of curricula including Oxford Latin Course, Cambridge Latin Course, Latin for the New Millennium, Latin via Ovid, and custom-designed materials developed at The Blake School. Katrina has taught homeschoolers, sibling pairs, adult learners, and traditional students both online and in person. She is especially adept at accommodating learning differences and integrating educational technology into her teaching practice.

In her previous roles at schools such as The Blake School, Edina Senior High, and Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Katrina led innovative curriculum development, integrated social justice themes into classical studies, and championed the use of tools like eFolios, Google platforms, and virtual field trips to bring Latin learning into the 21st century.

Katrina holds a Master of Education in Instructional Technology from Concordia University–St. Paul and maintains K–12 Latin licensure in Minnesota. When she’s not teaching, she can be found coaching youth cycling and advocating for accessible, inclusive education. She currently offers private Latin lessons remotely and in person, with flexible weekday availability.
